This map is nice because you can zoom down to individual census blocks to visualize demographic (population) information.

GGS 411 Blogpost Check Boxes - Yellowstone Animals

Blog Post -Check Boxes - Yellowstone Animals!

Took a while to find this map, but I think it would have been very useful on my previous visits to the park.  After a while you get tired of seeing bison and elk.  Where's the GOOD STUFF!

This map is neat because the advances and pauses are explained and controlled by Hitler's commands rather than arbitrary pauses in the mapping.

GGS 411 - Final Project Proposal

Rally Cross in America
My proposed final project will be a map of RallyCross events across the North American continent.  Rallycross is a "offroad" racing discipline that is specifically designed for amateurs with a limited budget of time and funds for car preparation and training.  The targeted competition is governed by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and has several regional club events as well as national sponsored events towards a national championship event.  Ideally my map will be a resource for dirt racing enthusiasts who are unaware of the sport's availability in their area and help them attend an event or two to give it a try.
My map inspiration comes from the World Rally Championship which is a professional racing series of similar style, but far greater costs, stakes, and stiffer global competition.  My product will include a splash page with a large scale map showing all of the events and have options for the audience to focus in on regional events and localized spatial information along with details about individual events.
